Turn blue into something you

Meaning ‘to freight’ in Swedish, the FRAKTA bag was originally designed to help IKEA customers carry their purchases. Today, it’s more than just a bag – it’s a cultural icon and trusted companion in the laundry room, at the recycling station, or on the beach. Built to last and endlessly adaptable, it stands for everyday practicality, creative reinvention, and sustainable thinking.

At Hus of FRAKTA, IKEA unpacks the bag’s story and collaborates with Zurich-based artist Yael Anders to explore the many lives of this global design icon. Drawing from Yael’s creative vision, our drop-in stations let you easily personalise your own FRAKTA bag - no prep, no stress, just a quick burst of fun!

Whether you come to personalise your bag or simply to explore the space, Hus of FRAKTA welcomes you to engage and play with design in your own way. Step inside and immerse yourself in every shade of blue, where the blue of FRAKTA becomes a world of its own.
